As you know, low fodmap diets are commonly recommended for a a variety of gut problems, including IBS, SIBO, dysbiosis and more. The biggest issue with low fodmap diets is a lack of compliance. This is due to nutrient deficiencies and boredom when restricting certain foods and even limiting some healthier choices. My Vital Healing Kitchen show this month and the Facebook live I did right afterwards help overcome these. Download the SIBO diet guidelines here and keep handy as you watch.

DUTCH Test vs Saliva Adrenal Test
DUTCH stands for dried urine for comprehensive hormones. It’s the latest technology in assessment for hormone balance. I love that it measures all the hormone metabolites, giving you a much deeper picture of what’s going on.
I’ve been liking it more and more for adrenal assessment, because, unlike saliva testing, it gives information about metabolites and reserves that the saliva test does not. Plus, it’s more convenient for the client to pee on a strip 4 times a day than to spit into a tube.
We will have a whole Mastery module on DUTCH testing coming relatively soon.
In the meantime, there are several ways for you to learn about it
1- Review the library of case study calls and general support calls. I’ve reviewed quite a number over the past several months.
2- watch the videos on the precision analytics site https://dutchtest.com/
3- Watch the DUTCH section of last year’s SHINE conference, available under the events tab on the site (insert link)
4- Run a test, use the tools listed above to get a first pass interpretation, then submit for an upcoming case studies or open support call.

Have you been hearing the buzz in intermittent fasting? Tried it yourself or with clients? I’d so post your experience to the NEPT Facebook group.
I did a call for the VITAL community on the topic Thursday, July 6th. We talked about contraindications as well as indications and the myths surrounding meal spacing.
I also created an 18 page document on intermittent fasting that’s loaded with references.
I encourage you to consider intermittent fasting for your clients who are stuck at a plateau – weight wise or symptom wise. I’ve had successful results with it.
Book Review: Solving the Autoimmune Puzzle by Dr. Keesha Ewers- July 2nd, 2017

Have you read the latest book on Autoimmunity, that links autoimmune disorders and other chronic health imbalances, to adverse childhood experiences(ACEs)?
I interviewed my friend and colleague, Dr. Keesha Ewers, on my facebook page a couple of weeks ago. Her talk was very informative and well received.
She was running a special to get the kindle version of the book, along with an online program, for just $1.99 – check out this link to see if it’s still on the table. www.DrRitamarie.com/puzzle
The link between ACEs and physical disorders are well documented.
Childhood Disrupted is a book I listened to on audio last summer and found it fascinating. It’s a great addition to your library. Getting your clients’ ACEs score can be a helpful part of your history taking.
The ACEs study, which is quoted in both books, is at the link below along with many other resources.
https://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/acestudy/index.html
As we talk with our clients and explore the root causes of their health issues, the impact of adverse childhood experiences needs to be evaluated. Both books include things to do to mitigate the impact., and in most cases, reverse the resulting pathology.
